- The Oak Hill Drum Studio is a home based music school offering professional instruction. Learn from a professional drummer and one the most experienced private Drumset educators in Texas. We are affiliated with Vic Firth Education, Sabian Education Network, and the D'Daddario Education collective.
- We use proven method books as the foundational tool for learning the Drums and school percussion. Not hand written exercises like some instructors use.
- Our studio offers 30, 45 , and 60 minute private classes. Rates for our classes and camps are posted at our on-line store. Your class rates will NEVER INCREASE as long as you stay continuously enrolled! Ask us for details or see our lesson policies for more information.
- Music schools and stores often charge an additional enrollment fee in addition to paying for classes. We have no registration fees or credit card acceptance fees!
- Most music stores and schools offer lessons in a small room on electronic Drums only. Our drum room is 400sf and students can choose between professional quality acoustic or electronic drums.
- Monthly tuition is a discounted rate based on an average of 46 scheduled class dates a year, not necessarily a class each week due to major holidays. Single classes are also available.
- Your first class is absolutely FREE! (excluding school band classes) Payment in advance is required to schedule additional classes or camps.
Minimum Requirements
- Our drum classes are recommended for ages 6 years to adult. In addition to learning to play, students will learn music theory and music notation as applied to the drums. Students are expected to practice their lessons at home.
- We teach from beginner to advanced levels.
- A pair of drumsticks, a method book, and something to play on at home such as a Drumset or practice pad is required to get started. Practice pads are designed for quiet practice at home and cost around $40. A sturdy music stand is also recommended.
- Don't have drums at home? No Problem. New electronic Drumsets are available for students to to take home on a rent to own basis. Ask us for details!
Private lessons for young kids, teens, and adults
Drum Lessons for Kids and Teens
Students learn fundamentals of music and rhythm using the Drumset. They learn to count beats and learn to read drum music. They take that knowledge and apply to popular music such as Rock, Pop, Hip Hop, Jazz, and any songs they like and want to play. It is a fun, practical way to enjoy and understand music!
